Daughters of Men

Okay, so I'm seven chapters in, and here are the numbers so far:

Chapter One - 2407 words
Chapter Two - 6060 words
Chapter Three - 2125 words
Chapter Four - 5258 words
Chapter Five - 3664 words
Chapter Six - 5768 words
Chapter Seven - 3063 words

For a grand total of...

*drumroll*

28,345 words! Whoo!

I haven't posted anything here for the last couple weeks. I'd love to say it's because I'm rewriting, but... no. I'm just a lazy procrastinator who can't stay focused on a story for more than 20,000 words at a time. But my head is swinging back towards this story, and with two weeks holiday starting next week, I'm hoping to get some more of this bad boy typed up and posted soon.

The other day, I found this picture:



... and it was interesting because that is really close to how I pictured the opening scene of the second chapter.

Which then makes me want to turn this into an illustrated story. Which then reminds me that I can't draw. Meh.

They say you should be able to sum up your story in one good sentence. I have tried that with this story since this time last year, and inspiration has yet to strike. I keep hoping that when I finally get to the end of it, I'll be able to look back and say "Oh, so that's what it was all about!"
